“The Lonely Lodge” vacation house

“The Lonely Lodge” is not actually lonely, but isolated from the outside world and waiting for you to fill it with laughter and good times. It is situated in Bužim, a small village, and is constructed entirely out of wood, giving you the perfect sensation of Velebit and Lika, taste of nature and fusion of stunning surroundings.

The ground floor has a dining room, kitchen and a living room, while the first floor holds three bedrooms. For entertainment and relaxation, you can use the barbeque next to the house and the recent addition to the house – your own private sauna! Memorial Centre Nikola Tesla is approx. 15-minutes car ride away, and Gospić just 20 minutes. You can also use one of the many bike trails near Gospić – there are three bikes for you to use in the vacation house. When in this house, you’ll understand what Lika’s vastness and isolation truly mean – and, don’t be surprised if you see a roe walking by while you’re drinking your first morning coffee!

Lika

LikaLika Lika is a region in Lika-Senj county uniting natural, cultural and historical diversities, a spacious basin inside a mountain frame with many fields and rivers vanishing in chasms. Lika’s identity can be seen in the mountains and forests – these natural resources are what makes Lika special and even that is an understatement. Velebit’s

Sports & nature

Sports & natureThe most significant Croatian mountain is surely Velebit, the whole of it being a nature park. Velebit's beauty, nature monuments, strict reservations and two national parks: Paklenica and North Velebit allow you to enjoy hiking, excursion and explorations in the fresh Lika air. If you want to take a walk by the coast, you can walk by Lika river (emerging in foothills of Velebit) or visit the Kruščica lake in the heart of Kosinj. Between the Lika stream and Perušić, Cave Park Grabovača is located. In Grabovača, you can enjoy a bicycle ride, a picnic with friends and family or see the park's biggest attraction, Samograd cave. Samograd is an extremely beautiful and rich with cave jewellery and protected as a geomorphological culture monument. Pick your vacation house in Lika, relax and enjoy your adventure.

Culture and history info

Culture and history infoNature is not the only thing Lika has to offer – cultural and historical heritage is quite diverse. Known fact is that Lika area was inhabited even in the Stone age. Many archaeological findings are displayed in the Museum of Lika Gospić under which protection is the Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre in Smiljan, dedicated to the great scientist. Besides Tesla, in Gospić, or to be more correct, in Veliki Žitnik, the great politician, Ante Starčević was born. The whole Lika area has cultural monuments witnessing its turbulent past. Two Turkish (Ottoman) tower remains- that of Agha Alić and Agha Senković- are thought to be the oldest buildings in Gospić and the foundations of the nowadays city. First Croatian printed book was printed presumably in Lika as well – the sight of the printing office can be seen in Kosinj village. Explore Lika and find for yourself what kind of history and cultural heritage Lika and its inhabitants hold.
